The best-selling LEGO sets on the European market: number one costs €2.76

We talk a lot about sets that are worth a lot. We rarely talk about the ones that sell. Yet those are two different questions, and the second says something very concrete about the market: what people actually buy, not what they look at. We counted 6 months of new sales for 1,535 sets priced on BrickLink Europe.

Nine boxes in ten sell on average for under €20. Three polybags, four Battle Packs, two Microfighters. A single exception above €100: the Hogwarts Great Hall, 287 sales at an average of €194.37. Star Wars takes seven of the ten places.

A very concentrated market

These 10 sets total 19.7% of the 22,086 new sales recorded across the 1,535 priced sets. A fifth of the European new market, measured in boxes, fits in ten low-priced references. It makes sense: Battle Packs get bought in threes to build an army, polybags get added to an order.

The other end: supply without buyers

  • 819 sets out of 1,535 (53.4%) made fewer than 5 new sales in 6 months.
  • 383 (25.0%) have more than 10 new listings online and fewer than 5 sales: supply that's waiting.
  • 257 (16.7%) made no new sale at all.

Volume isn't value. A rarely sold set can be worth a lot (few copies, few sellers), and a best-seller very little. These figures describe 6 past months, not the next ones.

How we measured

  • New sales and listings: latest BrickLink reading, European market, stored in the Cault database. Only sets with a price under 30 days old are counted (readings from September 22 to October 22, 2026).
  • A seller can sell several boxes: we count sales, not buyers.

My take

We often build wishlists from the sets people talk about: the big ones, UCS, retirements. The market lives off small boxes that sell by the hundreds. That's neither a good nor a bad sign, it's a different reality. If you ever resell, that liquidity matters as much as the price: a €500 set that finds no buyer in 6 months is worth, in practice, what someone will accept to pay the day you sell.
