LEGO Venice 11388 at €499.99: what the market pays for the 11 sets launched at €400 or more

On October 15, 2026, LEGO put the 11388 Venetian Neighbourhood online: €499.99, 5,682 pieces, 17 minifigures, LEGO Insiders access from November 1. That's a price you only see a handful of times a year. So we asked the question every collector asks in front of a €500 box: what has the market done with sets launched at that price level?

What is official, and what isn't yet

Hoth Bricks and Stonewars give the same figures: €499.99, 5,682 pieces, 17 minifigures. LEGO Insiders members get access from November 1. Stonewars announces general sale on November 4, but we couldn't confirm it on the French LEGO Shop as of October 22, so we don't present it as fact.

One detail is worth noting: on September 10, Stonewars published a rumour of "almost 5,700 pieces" and "more than 15 minifigures". The official reveal came 35 days later with 5,682 pieces and 17 minifigures. On content, the leak was right. The price wasn't part of it.

Eight of eleven sets sell under list price. The three above it (AT-AT, Hogwarts Express, Gringotts) only just: between +4.2% and +7.9%. All three are no longer sold by LEGO. But retirement isn't enough: the Ferrari Daytona SP3, also retired, sells 32.9% under its price.

The AT-AT and the Titanic were raised after release (€799.99 then €849.99 for one, €629.99 then €679.99 for the other). We compare them to the latest known LEGO price. Against their launch price, the AT-AT would be at +10.7% and the Titanic at −22.3%.

The very large set does no better than the rest

You might think a €500 set holds its value better: fewer made, more "collector". The Cault database doesn't show it. Among the 364 sets released from 2021 to 2025 with at least 5 new sales and a price under 30 days old, the share selling under list price is about the same in every bracket.

How we measured

  • Price: latest BrickLink reading, European market, in euros, stored in the Cault database. Average new sale over 6 months, at least 5 new sales, readings from September 22 to October 22, 2026 (September 27 to October 17 for the 11 large sets).
  • Our plan called for a median per bracket from 20 sets. The €400-plus bracket only has 11 (18 down to €300), so we publish the full list rather than a fragile median.
  • Venice official data: Hoth Bricks and Stonewars, October 15, 2026. Rumour: Stonewars, September 10, 2026.

My take

Venice has no market price yet, and I won't invent one. What the 11 large sets show is that a high launch price buys no protection: three in four resell under the shop price, just like small ones. If you get Venice, get it because you want to build and display it. And record what you actually paid: that number, not the €499.99, is what will matter the day you want to know what it's worth.
